The Junior League team participated in the Walk Against Hunger on Sunday, May 3rd at East Rock Park in support of our community partner The Connecticut Food Bank. The Junior League of Greater New Haven sponsored a team for the Connecticut Food Bank's Walk Against Hunger on Sunday, May 3rd at East Rock Park. And despite the rain, everyone had a great time working to feed hungry families in the New Haven area! In addition to walking, serving as crossing guards, helping with registration, portraying "Trix" the Rabbit, and exceeding our fundraising goal, members also set up a table at the event to promote the Connecticut Food Bank's Plant a Row Program, which encourages anyone with a plot of land set aside for a garden to dedicate a row of fruit or vegetables to help feed people in need. The Plant a Row project also works with local farmers' markets, farms, and orchards to collect unsold, wholesome produce for distribution to local hunger relief efforts.
