Junior League Walks Against Hunger

walk-against-hunger-10-pic19The Junior League of Greater New Haven sponsored a team for the Walk Against Hunger on Sunday, May 2, 2010, to support our long-time community partner, the Connecticut Food Bank.  The League team was the top fundraising team for the event, and our members collected over $4000 to help the Connecticut Food Bank provide food to hungry families in the community. Members also volunteered to help with registration for the walk.  Participation in the Walk, however, was just one of the many contributions this past year from the League, which has already donated over 23,000 meals to hungry families. Other activities this year have included a Super Saturday Food Drive, food sorting events, and a Hunger Awareness Happy Hour.  For pictures of the Walk Against Hunger, click on our photo gallery.
