Julia Chaffe, President

juliachaffe1Julia Chaffe joined the Junior League of Greater New Haven in the fall of 2008. She and her husband, Aric Isaacs, relocated to New Haven in 2003 after living and working in Dallas, Texas for eight years. She received her Master of Arts in English in May of 2003 from the University of Dallas, and has been a high school English teacher for fourteen years. Wanting to contribute to the community and work with like-minded women, she sought out the Junior League. In her time with the League, she has served as the interim Community Council Director, co-chair of the League Development Committee and President-Elect.  She looks forward to serving the Junior League of Greater New Haven as President this year.

 

 

Pam Hearn, President Elect

hearn-pam-110705Pam first joined the Junior League in 1999 as a member of the Junior League of Greenwich. She transferred to the Junior League of Greater New Haven in 2008, when she took a position as vice president of financial development for the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, headquartered in New Haven. During her time with the League in New Haven, she has served on various committees including Wine Tasting, Done In A Day, League Development and Nominating & Placement. Pam graduated from Wellesley College and currently lives in Stratford with her husband, son and two labradoodles.

 

 

 

Kathleen Murphy, Finance Council Director

Kathleen joined the Junior League of Greater New Haven in the fall of 2009. She received her Masters of Arts in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews in 2005 and works as the program coordinator for International Security Studies at Yale. She and her fiancé, Carlos, live in the Fair Haven neighborhood of New Haven. Kathleen sings in the Greater New Haven Community Chorus, where she is on the Board of Directors as social committee co-chair, as well as playing an active role in the Chatham Square Neighborhood Association. Before becoming finance council director, she served as vice chair for New Haven's Most Eligible.

 

 

 

Noelle Shipley, Membership Council Director

shipley-noelle-110705Noelle joined the Junior League of Greater New Haven in the fall of 2008. Passionate about issues related to education and homelessness, she joined the League to find more volunteer opportunities in New Haven. Noelle and her husband, Brice, live in the Wooster Square neighborhood of New Haven with their one-year-old son, Will. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, she teaches mathematics and coaches colleagues as a master teacher at Wilbur Cross High School. Noelle is also active in the New Haven Land Trust as a coordinator of the Wooster Street Community Garden and volunteers with the Elm City Market Co-Operative.

 

 

Megan Tokarski, Communications Council Director

tokarski-megan-110802Megan joined the Junior League of Greater New Haven in the fall of 2009 and most recently served on the League Development Committee. A graduate of Villanova University, she works as a development associate at Achievement First, a non-profit charter school management organization in New Haven. Megan is also active with the Greater New Haven Cat Project and serves as a fifth- and sixth-grade reading and math tutor at Amistad Academy. A Connecticut native, Megan currently resides in Seymour with her husband, Dave, and their two-year-old cat, Chloe.

 

 

 

Kelly Chapman, Community Council Director

kelly chapman photoKelly is a Director of Membership Services for the Girl Scouts of Connecticut, and has been working with women and girls throughout Greater New Haven in this capacity since 2006. Kelly received her Master of Arts in Women's Studies from Southern Connecticut State University in 2006, and is a member of the 2008 graduating class of Leadership New Haven. She has been an active member of the Junior League of Greater New Haven since 2006, serving in a variety of leadership positions in both the Community and Finance Councils.

 

 

 

Ann Edmiston Rumberger, Sustainer Liaison, Ex-Officio

Ann became a member of the Junior League of New York City in 1995 and transferred to the Junior League of Greater New Haven in 1999. After serving on several community and fundraising committees, she held the positions of Membership Council Director, Community Council Director and President. She was the Communications Director in her Past President year. Ann currently works as an Associate Director at the Yale Alumni Fund. She lives in Madison with her husband and two daughters.
