Ashika Brinkley, President
Ashika Severin Brinkley joined the Junior League in 2003 as a graduate student attending the Yale University School of Public Health. In the five years that she has been a member of the New Haven League, Ashika has served as Happenings Editor, School Co-op co-chair, League Development co-chair, and Membership Council Director. She has also served on several committees including the Wine Tasting and Strategic Planning committees.
Ashika currently works for the New Haven Health Department as the Project Director of the New Haven Asthma Initiative, a program focused on reducing asthma prevalence and improving asthma management in the Greater New Haven community. This year she was chosen as one of the Connecticut Health Foundation’s Leadership Health Fellows. In her spare time Ashika volunteers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and is an active member of the local graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, an organization of over 200,000 women committed to “service to all mankind.”
Ashika is originally from the island of St. Lucia, a small island in the Eastern Caribbean. She currently lives in Bristol with her husband Deshawn and her two cats, Buttons and Chrissy.
Kimberly Pedrick, President-elect
Kim Pedrick joined the Boston Junior League in the fall of 2002 and transferred her membership in 2005 when she moved to New Haven after purchasing a woman’s jewelry and clothing store downtown. The store, idiom, is located at 1014 Chapel Street in New Haven and has been a very rewarding and fulfilling adventure for her.
Kim has had a wonderful experience in the New Haven League and most recently has served as the chair for the High School Voluntarism Committee. She is very much looking forward to her year ahead as Membership Council Director. One of the best things to come from her membership thus far is the wonderful friendships she has made!
Aimee Loinig, Community Council Director

Aimee Marie Loinig joined the Junior League in 2007 after bring introduced to the League by a Sustaining member and past president. She has served on League Development and as the 2008-2009 Chair of the League's community partnership with New Haven Home Recovery.
Aimee is originally from Kew Gardens, New York, and found her way to the Greater New Haven area for law school. Currently she is a corporate attorney for Subway headquarters, and her work includes a variety of real estate and international matters. Aimee enjoys living in the Westville section of New Haven.
Aimee is also very involved in her family's bed and breakfast on Shelter Island, located off of eastern Long Island, where she is also an active member of the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women.
Kendra Martin, Membership Council Director
Kendra Martin joined the Junior League of Greater New Haven in April 2006. She has an MBA from Fairfield University and works at Sun Products Corporation in Stamford. Kendra lives in Branford and most enjoys spending time with family, helping others, and connecting within the community. Before becoming Membership Council Director, Kendra has served as Co-chair of the Wine Tasting Committee and as Finance Council Director for two years.
Tawney Schwarz, Finance Council Director
Tawney Schwarz joined the Junior League of Wilmington, NC, in 2005 and transferred to the New Haven League in 2006. She holds a BS in Engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Tawney currently works in the medical device industry with Spine Wave in Shelton, CT.
Joedi Brown, Assistant Finance Council Director
Joedi Brown joined the Junior League in fall of 2008. She holds a Masters of Science in Development Administration and Planning from the University College of London and currently works as the International Product Manager at LATICRETE International, Inc. Before becoming Assistant Finance Council Director, Joedi has served as Wine Tasting Committee Chair.
Casey Schwing, Communications Director
Casey Schwing joined the Junior League Hampton Roads in 2006 and transferred her membership to the Greater New Haven League in 2008. A graduate of Christopher Newport University, she is currently a preschool teacher at a local private school and is working towards a graduate degree in Education. Casey lives with her family in Milford, where she enjoys spending time with her children, exploring the shoreline, and settling into life in New England.
